Mrs. Elsie Ilori

Elsie Ilori is a Deputy Director at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. She has a Masters degree in Zoology with specialty in Entomology. She has a postgraduate Diploma in applied Entomology and Parasitology and certificate in Applied Epidemiology.
Mrs. Ilori started her Public Health career in 1988 as a surveillance officer and data manager at the Federal Ministry of Health and has continued to grow in responsibility to her current role. Her work involved the management of epidemiological data and formulation of policies and operational guidelines for priority diseases including epidemic prone and zoonotic diseases. She has demonstrated competence in delivering high quality results, strong analytical skills and provided consistent technical support to state Ministries of health to enhance the result framework of public health interventions in Nigeria. She is a good team player and is able to communicate effectively, thus influencing and guiding various points of discussions with colleagues.
She is the team lead for Lassa fever Technical Working Group at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and has coordinated the production of various guidelines and SOPs for Lassa fever control in Nigeria. She presently is the Incident Manager (IM) for the National Lassa fever Emergency Operation Centre (LF_EOC) at the NCDC.
